Our Story

Named for mastery. Marked by the falcon.

The fund takes its name from the Arabic word for mastery and its emblem from the falcon. It was built to close the gaps that hold founders back.

The falcon

Chosen for what it stands for.

The falcon resonates across the Middle East. It was chosen for that, and for the qualities it carries:

  • Precision
  • Elite training
  • Sharp vision
  • Speed and decisiveness
  • The pursuit of high-value opportunities

Like the falcon in its hunt for prey, we search for the best opportunities with killer precision.

ITQAN is early in its journey, but highly capable, strategically connected and focused on exceptional opportunities.

The name

Mastery, in one word.

Itqan is the Arabic word for work done with complete care. It is the standard the fund holds itself to, and the standard it looks for in the companies it backs.

إتقان

  • Mastery
  • Precision
  • Excellence

The origin

Built to close the gaps founders kept running into.

The team behind ITQAN saw founders struggle with the same gaps, again and again.

  • Capital

Too little, too late, and rarely with the relationships a company needs next.

  • Execution

Plans that outrun the team available to deliver them.

  • Technical risk

Claims about the technology that no one tested before the money went in.

  • Delayed go-to-market

Products ready long before the route to customers is.

  • Thin support

Investors present at the close and absent after it.

ITQAN was designed to close those gaps: a disciplined process from first screening to investment committee, and operating support that continues after the check, from engineering, talent, marketing and legal to establishing a company in the United States or the UAE.
